What is Spiritual Psychology

Spiritual Psychology is based on the understanding that our true essence is spiritual and that our body, mind and emotions are vehicles for spiritual expression. This essence is present in every moment and we have the opportunity to connect with and respond to its guidance. Yet the human condition is such that there are many challenges that block us from this conscious connection. Clearing these blocks is key to the process spiritual psychology.

Leslie Karen Sann presents a framework for integrating psychological and spiritual work so that each approach complements and enhances the other. Thus, every psychological limitation or difficulty provides a special kind of opportunity - to see where you have lost touch with essential aspects of your being and to recover these lost parts of yourself. Once recovered these energies can be directed toward creating a life that is rich and satisfying.

Spiritual Psychology is a positive psychology that utilizes a learning paradigm. A learning paradigm does not presume anything wrong with you - it simply presents things you can learn to make your life and work more easeful and productive.

Issues are seen as gifts for they offer an opportunity to reconnect with your essence, an occasion to expand, to learn and grow. Adversities are recognized as teachers. Life skills are taught to enable you to meet the challenges of life successfully.

Practical Spirituality

These goals, as you commit to them, will begin to pull you toward them. As you do so, old patterns will emerge, patterns that have kept you from having what you want, and as you become aware of these limiting patterns you will have the opportunity to change them into patterns that expand and support.

Leslie, a counselor, educator and coach, brings to her work the spirit of aliveness, creativity and discovery. This coupled with a spiritual perspective makes working with Leslie a deep, enriching and potentially life changing experience. Leslie's calm, empathy, acceptance and honesty, create a safe place for clients to work at deep levels. She has an intuitive ability to reflect and draw out the best in people. Her style is affirming and validating.

Leslie has a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Santa Monica, with an emphasis in Spiritual Psychology. She also has a Master's of Theology in Practical Spirituality. She is an experienced licensed clinician, who in addition to her professional training has also completed two intensive training programs in coaching, The Hendricks Institute Advanced Trainings and the Hoffman Quadrinity Process. Her approach draws from more than twenty years of study in traditional and non-traditional programs in the art of coaching, psychology, ontological design, and communication, as well as more than thirty years of personal spiritual practice.

Since 1986 Leslie has supported thousands of people in creating greater harmony and fulfillment in their lives while achieving their personal and professional best. She is available for personal and professional counseling, in person or on the phone, as well as seminar and workshop presentations.

Meet Kelsi 

Kelsi, an 8-year-old black Labrador Retriever, is a certified therapy dog and Leslie's co-therapist. She accompanies Leslie to work most days, and is excited to do her job of greeting and loving Leslie's clients. Kelsi was certified by Therapy Dogs International  (TDI) when she was just 16 months old.
