Difficulties are meant to rouse, not
discourage.
The human spirit is to grow strong by conflict.

SOMETHING
HAPPENED
Recently, SOMETHING HAPPENED. You know what I'm
talking about. SOMETHING HAPPENS and you're knocked down and feel like you
got sucker punched. Didn't see it coming. Out of the blue. Can't catch
your breath.
Well, just last week SOMETHING HAPPENED and I was
left reeling. I was stunned, shocked, taken aback. I'm sure it's happened
to you just once in your life.
And quite honestly I couldn't see how I had
contributed to the sucker punch. How did I help set it up for this to
occur. Clueless.
In moments like that it is so easy to point a finger
at the other person. The one the fist that delivered the punch is attached
to.
Fortunately I have the POWER TOOL of the F.I.N.G.E.R
R.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N in my tool box. The Finger Revolution is when you turn
that finger pointing at there to "That Which Did It" and you
turn it towards yourself and ask the question .. "How did I Create,
Promote or Allow (CPA) this incident?"
At first you may not want to look. Totally
understandable, but ask yourself, how might it serve you to study how you
might be part of setting up a negative experience.
I am motivated by learning and the desire to be
free. When I can recognize my part in something, I can DO something about
it going forward. If I don't look, if I don't develop awareness, then I'm
setting myself up for a future sucker punch. Perhaps not from the same
person, but the pattern in me will still be present, and I will likely
provoke a similar experience from someone else.
As I said, it took 12 hours for my body to stop
shaking and to calm down, and then another 12 or more hours for my mind to
unclench. My willingness was key. I was willing to ask and to listen.
And I was amazed at what was revealed. It became
clear how I had allowed this to occur. This is how I choose to be
accountable for my life. Now I can look at my behavior and see where I am
out of alignment with what I really want and take course corrective
action.
I know this sounds crazy, but I am grateful for the
blast. It opened me up to see things in myself I hadn't yet seen at this
level. A true gift.
What about you? Are you willing to turn that finger
around and ask yourself, "How did I Create, Promote or Allow this
incident?" If you are, you may find your life is transformed. Because
no matter what happens, you can now use it to learn about yourself and
grow.
