"Baruch Bashan" (The blessings already
are).
~ John-Roger ~
"Now is where the work begins. The real
commitment to making it not just that slogan, 'we are one', but we have to
really become One, truly. We have to move to do things to help each other,
on every level."
~ Stevie Wonder ~

WE ARE ONE
I'm sitting at my computer with the YouTube videos
of the We Are One Inaugural Celebration playing in the background. I am
moved to tears as my heart opens to the possibility of a change that can
truly serve the greatest good of all.
I am awed at what is unfolding and grateful to be
alive at this moment in time, realizing I have the choice to participate
in creating something greater.
I've asked myself, what can I do to be part of the
change? What if I follow our President's leadership by practicing
embracing everyone and everything regardless of differences? What if I
look more at how we are alike versus how we are different and in finding
our sameness be part of We Are One?
I see a great opportunity for myself to up my
commitment to embrace and love what is as a way not only to serve myself,
but to serve the change that is amongst us.
Having a vision is the first step to manifesting the
change we seek. None of us are given visions for our lives that we can’t
fulfill— whether it’s having a healthier body or a loving relationship
or a more satisfying job or making a difference in the world.
To bring our vision into reality we must make
different choices. Most of us continue to make the same choices out of
habit, comfort, or fear and wonder why we don’t get different results.
Change has a price. Manifesting our vision doesn't
happen just by wanting it. We must invest focus, energy, and action into
what we want. Sometimes we choose to do things we really don't want to do
because they serve a bigger goal, a greater good. By bringing conscious
awareness to our choices, we change the patterns of our past and create a
different future.
What is it you want and what new choices are
necessary to make your dreams a reality?
What do you imagine might shift in your life if you
choose to focus on the blessings that are already present?
I loved discovering that Barack translates to the
word blessing. Whether you voted for him or not, he is now our president.
What if we saw his presence as a reminder to us to look for the blessings
amongst us, even in the face of adversity?
And what if we were moved to share our blessings
with those around us, making every day a day of service to the greater
good. Perhaps you share your material blessings, the blessings of your
talents and skills, or the blessing of your loving heart.
One man cannot do it for us. He can inspire us to do
it for ourselves.
What is your vision and what can you do to make it
happen?
