TRUE
TO YOUR HEART
You may or may not be aware that I opened a second
office close to my home this year. The story about how that came to be is
amazing, as I had been holding in my heart the intention to open something
closer to home but hadn't yet taken physical action on it.
One day last summer, after visiting a Thai massage
therapist because my back was doing something funky, I left the building
where she works and noticed outside the two story house a grouping of
signs indicating the different folks who had businesses in that house.
Amongst them was a sign that said “Counseling,” with a phone number.
Thirty minutes later MK and I were talking. I
mentioned to her that I sublet my Chicago office on days I'm not there and
was wondering if I could rent from her when she is not there. (By the way,
her office is 6 miles from my home!)
Two days later she opened the door to her office and
handed me the keys, not having yet met me or interviewed me. Nada. In the
course of our conversation that morning, without me even asking, she
offered me everything I had wanted, including being fine with Kelsi (my
dog) coming to work with me.
Amazing.
It's like it was already prepared before I arrived.
As if my imagining what I really wanted had manifested for me. All I had
to do was show up and get the keys.
Well, my practice has been growing and the days she
can give me are limited, so about a month ago I thought to check out what
rents are in the area, thinking I would need my own space pretty soon.
I found a lovely space just around the corner from
MK's and got a sense of what rents were, etc. I also knew I wasn't ready
to say yes. I still wanted to grow my biz a bit more. I just invested
money in my Chicago office buying new furniture and fixing it up and
didn't want to take on fixing up another space.
Okay - here we go....Wednesday of last week MK
called wanting to talk something through. She has accepted a job with the
government counseling troops and will be sent all over the world for 45
days at a time. That had her thinking she didn't want to keep her current
space due to the overhead.
Well, guess what. She and I just signed a lease and
we will be sharing the lovely space just around the corner come November
1st. She has more than enough furniture, the landlord will paint and is
fine with us sharing the lease and putting both our names on the sign
outside the building. I'm waiting to hear back regarding whether Kelsi is
welcome to work with me.
What do you think about that?
There is great power in knowing what you really want
… really, Really, REALLY want, and holding to the truth of your desire
in your heart. To support that desire, it serves to listen within and take
action as you are guided. Amazing things can happen when you are true to
your heart.

TIP
FROM A READER
After reading my last
newsletter Dana Benigno of Sweet
Girl Desserts offered me the following tip:
"Little tip from a chef: put the soaked almonds
in between two dish towels and rub them around. It helps loosen the skins
to make peeling easier!"
Check out her web site and her Four Star Chocolate
Mousse Dessert.
Thank you, Dana.
