ANOTHER
WAY TO PRAY (part 1)
I’d like to suggest an unconventional way to pray,
it’s called creating a Living Vision.
The definition of pray (verb): to make a request to
a god or spirit.
To pray is to take action. Making a request is one
of the most powerful of actions. If I ask you for a glass of water and you
bring me one, I have now manifested a glass of water when moments before I
had none.
When we create a Living Vision we are making a
request for something to manifest. We are opening ourselves up to be a
co-creator with That Which Creates.
I see my Living Visions as prayers. They are
heartfelt requests for greater expansion and growth in my life.
My Living Visions describe the what. The how is
often unknown to me. Thus as with any prayer, we surrender to something
greater and ask for guidance in manifesting our request.
I begin my prayer, my Living Vision, with the
statement, "This or Something Greater for the Highest Good of All
Concerned". This is my surrender statement. I'm giving my request UP,
and I open to receive that which serves best.
This is how to do it: Begin by creating "sacred
space," a space within yourself that is quiet and inwardly focused.
You may choose to light a candle, clear space on your desk, close the
door, shut down your phone and your computer.
Close your eyes and breathe deeply into your belly,
quieting the mind, focusing on your heart.
Imagine your breath moving through your heart as you
inhale and exhale.
Allow yourself to touch into what is your heart’s
true desire, what you really want.
Invite your heart’s desire into your consciousness
asking for that which serves the greatest good for all concerned to be
made manifest.
Open your eyes. Begin to write on a clean blank
piece of paper. Begin with the open ended sentence, “What I ReALLy want
is ___.”
Allow your pen or pencil to move without hesitation.
Write down anything and everything that comes.
Ask what you want in all areas, health, finances,
relationships, career, fun, spirituality, recreation, home, personal
growth, etc.
When you are done, stand up, stretch, take a few
deep breaths.
Sit down again. This time pick up the pen with your
non- dominant hand. Ask the question, “What do I ReALLy want?”, and
begin writing. It is possible you may discover even more of what you want.
When you are done, stand up again, stretch, take a
few breaths, perhaps drink some water.
Now look at what you wrote. Take out a different
color pen. Scan the paper and the words and circle those items that make
your heart sing. This isn’t a mental process. Trust yourself to know
which items are the ones you ReALLy want. Make sure you have at least one
item circled in each area of your life.
Now, write a story, “A Day in the Life of Me.”
Imagine it is five years in the future (or one, or two, you decide), and
you have just awakened from a restful night's sleep into the life you
ReALLy want. Write out in the present tense what your day is like.
“Here I am laying in my deliciously comfortable
bed, looking out into an amazing view of distant mountains as I hear birds
singing and the gentle sound of the little creek that runs by our bedroom
window. ....”
Be sure to write at the end the words, “This or
Something Greater for the Highest Good of All Concerned.”
Read your vision aloud to yourself consistently.
Daily is good.
This is another way to pray. You are calling
yourself forward into the energy of Creation. You are asking to partner
with that energy to manifest what you ReaLLy want, if it serves the
greatest good.
Choose to take action on your vision. Prayer without
action is not prayer. We are met at our point of action.

“Action translates dreams into reality.”
~ Tony Robbins ~
"Your vision will become clear only when you
look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside,
awakens."
~ Carl Jung ~
