WHAT
YOU WANT MAY SHOW UP DIFFERENTLY THAN YOU HAD IMAGINED
There is a story I once heard about a man who was in
an area where the river was about to overflow. He heard about it on the
news and got on his knees to pray to be delivered from the flood. In a
little while there was a knock on the door and his neighbor was there
asking him if he'd like to leave with he and his family in his car. The
man declined explaining that God was going to deliver him.
The waters began to rise and the man's house was
beginning to fill up with water. In a little while another neighbor
paddled by in a boat and invited the man to join him in rowing to safety.
Again the man declined explaining that God was going to deliver him.
This was a very big flood, and now the man was on
his knees on the roof of his house praying to God to deliver him. He hears
a noise and looks up and there is a helicopter with a rope ladder dangling
and he was being asked to grab hold and get pulled up to safety. Again the
man declined explaining that God was going to deliver him.
Now the man is at the pearly gates and he asks Peter
if he can have a talk with God. When he appears before God he asks God why
God had failed him? God replied, "First I sent you a car, then a
boat, and finally a helicopter!"
Sometimes what we asked for shows up differently
than we had imagined. We need to pay attention to the essence, not only
the form of what we are wanting.
It's important to be able to discern the essence of
the experience you are looking for. The essence is different than the
form. I really don't know what God delivering the man in the above story
looked like for him, but in essence it showed up for him in three
different forms. He apparently imagined something else and therefore
rejected the very thing he was asking for.
When you ask for what you want and begin to take
action toward that outcome, remember to focus on the essence and not the
form, and you might find that something even better than you had imagined
comes in to your life!

PRACTICALLY SPEAKING
If you want to be successful in manifesting your
goals, it is important that you get in touch with the ESSENCE of the goal.
What is the underlying drive for your goal? What experience are you
looking for? What about the outcome, experience, result, is attractive to
you?
You may want a new car, but is it the thing itself,
or what it represents to you? Is it the way you'll feel when you drive the
car, the ease of getting around, the experience of luxury,or something
else that really motivates you?
Pay attention to the ways what you want is already
showing up in your life.

Are you willing to learn to partner with that which
is Greater, and become a co-creator of your life?
