LIVING
IN GRATITUDE
One of the keys to opening out hearts is gratitude.
It is the spiritual antidote to the feelings of lack. Through gratitude we
can begin to appreciate the abundance around us.
Gratitude has the power to shift our focus from
there is not enough to there are blessings galore.
There is a phenomena of life - we attract what we
dwell upon. If we focus on lack, that is what we get. To lose the feeling
of lack, come back to this moment with a focus of gratitude.
Learn to focus on what is right now and appreciating
the blessing of being alive. Look at your world through the eyes of
fullness and gratitude and allow yourself to harvest the abundance all
around you.
Teach yourself to appreciate what you have rather
than what you don't. I'd rather have a small inconvenient bathroom than no
bathroom at all. I'd rather have to run up and down the stairs to the
washer and dryer than to have no washer and dryer at all.
You can even learn to appreciate your negativity. I
can appreciate my irritation at a store that employs only one clerk to
staff the register the week before Christmas. I can be grateful that I'm
irritated because I'm hot in my very warm coat and boots. I can appreciate
that I have a family I want to get home to, a warm home and food in the
pantry. I can appreciate that I'm irritated because I have someone I care
about for whom I am buying a gift...... Now I'm feeling grateful and not
irritated, and standing in line is no longer an issue.
Focus on being grateful for your next breath and you
will find that most of your problems disappear. Be grateful for whatever
is around you right now. You will find you radiate a positive energy that
is contagious, and you will be living in true abundance.
QUOTES
"To have abundance does not mean having lots
of things: it means having access to, and communion with the essence of
all things."
~ John-Roger ~
"There are only two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything
is a miracle."
~ Albert Einstein ~
REQUEST
I am writing a book on forgiveness. If you' would
like to contribute you can do one or both of two things:
- ask me any questions you might have about
forgiveness, what is it, how to do it, why do it....
- send me any story you may have about how
forgiveness, forgiving yourself or another has changed your life, even
in small ways.
PRACTICALLY SPEAKING:
- Next time you are upset, notice where you have
been placing your attention.
- Challenge yourself to shift to finding things to
be grateful for.
- Do this as long as it takes to open your heart to
the abundance of the moment
WONDER QUESTIONS:
- Are you willing to be grateful for EVERYTHING in
your life - no matter what your mind thinks of the person, situation
or circumstance?
