PERSEVERE
UNTIL THE END AND WIN
Meeting the Challenge of Change, Part 8
Are you ready to expedite change? Imagine your
outcome, declare your commitment, and keep taking action until you achieve
your goal.
To win you need to show up consistently. Persistence
will serve you. Consistent action will translate your dreams into reality.
Most of us think manifesting our goals is as simple
as going from point A to B - and of course we travel in a straight line.
But in reality our path from A to B looks more like traveling through a
maze blindfolded. If you get to a dead end - giving up isn't going to get
you out of the maze. You must keep on keeping on if you want to get out of
the maze.
The secret of showing up consistently is to reframe
adversity into challenge. If you get upset every time you get thrown off
the horse, you don't have much fun learning to ride. If you consider it a
set back when you get knocked down, then getting back up one more time may
be quite difficult.
But if you see it as part of the process, a
necessary and fundamental aspect of making change happen, you have a
context that allows you to keep your focus on your goal. Get up one more
time than you fall and you are guaranteed to meet your goal.

QUOTES:
"He who wins endures to the end."
~ John-Roger ~
"Success isn't something you chase. It's
something you have to put forth the effort for constantly. Then maybe
it'll come when you least expect it. Most people don't understand
that."
~ Michael Jordan ~
"Nothing in the world can take the place of
persistence. Talent will not. Nothing is more common than unsuccessful men
with great talent. Genius will not. Unrewarded genius is almost a problem.
Education will not. The world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence
and determination alone is omnipotent."
~ Calvin Coolidge ~
PRACTICALLY SPEAKING:
- Notice what you say to yourself when you reach a
seemingly dead end or when you find that you have 'fallen off the
horse.' Is it undermining or motivational? Make it a practice to
remind yourself that change is a process and not a destination.
- On your journey of change - reward yourself with
praise as you move through the maze. When you find yourself at a
seemingly impasse re-strategize and get yourself back in the game.
WONDER QUESTIONS:
- Are you willing to do whatever it takes to
manifest the change you are seeking?
- Are you willing to take dominion over your past
programming and transform your self-talk into positive, supportive
statements of your success?
