RECIPE
FOR LIVING BY DESIGN
LIVING
BY DESIGN
(Part 14)
(This article is a continuation in a series
about the creative process.)
This past series of articles have been about the
power you have to be the creative force in your own life. To live a life
of your own design. Here is a recipe for your ongoing success:
Ingredients: - clarity of vision - strength of heart
- commitment to self - tenacity for action - willingness to learn whatever
will support you in having what you want - a sense of humor, fun, and
adventure
-
Know what you want:
Otherwise how will you recognize it when you create it?
-
Write it down: Writing
it down helps program your mind to begin to focus on what you want.
-
Be specific: The more
specific you are the easier it will be. You are sending a purchase
order to the Universe, be clear as to what you are asking for.
-
Add the insurance
clause: “for the highest good for all concerned,” so that you
receive only that which is in service to you and to others.
-
Take Action: Look at
your vision and ask: “what is the next doable action I can take to
move this project forward?” Then complete that action. Remember inch
by inch is a cinch. Take small, manageable steps.
-
Know what you are
getting: Pay attention to the outcome you are producing. Observe
whether you are getting closer to or further away from your goal.
Learn from the results you produce.
-
Change your approach
... course correct: Do more of what works ... less of what doesn’t
.... try new things! Continue to modify your action plan until you get
your desired result. Success is a process of continually focusing on
your goals and taking persistent action until the desired result is
obtained.
-
Continue until goal is
obtained Keep taking action, learn from the results, and course
correct until your outcome is achieved! The game is not over until it
is over!
-
Maintain a positive
focus: Hold the image of your successful completion in front of you.
Allow your positive vision to pull you forward. Focus on the joy and
learning of the journey. Remember, each action takes you one step
closer to where you want to go!
-
Have fun and celebrate
yourself along the way: Did I say FUN! YES I DID! Someone once said:
“It is not what we attain, but who we become in the process of
achievement that gives value to life!” So go ahead and have yourself
a good time becoming the biggest and best you.
Remember, life is a process, not an event. Enjoy
your journey.

QUOTES:
“To laugh often and much;
to win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better,
whether by a healthy child, a garden patch
or a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier
because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson ~
