SMALL
SUCCESSES GROW
Powerful People Make Things Easy (Part 12)
(This article is a continuation of a series
about our personal power to create the life we want)
Large successes are made up of smaller ones. Little
successes, baby wins, build into larger accomplishments. Waiting to
acknowledge ourselves as successful until the big one manifests runs down
our motivation battery. It’s a way to undermine our forward motion.
It is powerful to celebrate successes along the way.
Rather than what has been left undone, notice what has been accomplished.
Instead of noticing what is missing in your life, notice what is present
and good. Acknowledge the changes you’ve made in your life so far, who
you have become, who you are. Self-appreciation feels good and it feeds us
on a deep level.
When you focus on what you have done, and celebrate
yourself for your doing, you will be motivated to do more. Who doesn’t
like that gold star?! Give yourself a pat on the back. Look in the mirror,
smile, and tell yourself you are proud of you.
As you continue to do this you build a strong
relationship with you. After all you are the only person you can count on
spending the rest of your life with. Why not spend it as your own best
friend.
When you acknowledge your growth you build self-
respect, self-trust, and self-confidence. You will discover you want to
participate even more, because it feels so good to say “Yeah Me”, and
mean it.

PRACTICALLY SPEAKING:
- Take some quiet time to reflect on the changes
you have made since January. Write down anything you have done (baby
steps count) to improve your relationship with you in the following
areas:
- physical health
- emotional and mental self care
- spiritual nurturing
- career/job
- finances
- relationship/communication skills
- home/work environment
- Have you taken any risks this year? Stepped out
of your comfort zone - no matter what the results? Write them down.
Give yourself an atta-girl or an atta-boy.
- What qualities of self have you nurtured this
year? Are you a better listener? More compassionate or patient? Record
your awareness.
- How have you been kind to others? Have you
extended yourself in service? Have you been a contributor to peace in
even the smallest of ways. Please make notes.

WONDER QUESTIONS:
- Where have you been successful?
- What contributions have you made to yourself or
to others?
- How does it feel in your body to acknowledge who
you are and what you have accomplished?
- Are you willing to be a powerful creative force
of joy and fulfillment in your life?
