ACCEPTANCE
FUELS CREATION
LIVING
BY DESIGN
(Part 11)
(This article is a continuation in a series
about the creative process.)
We cannot transform what we do not accept, what we
do not embrace, what we do not look at, acknowledge and shake hands with.
If I am pretending what is isn’t, or what isn’t
is, (denial) then I deny my ability to create an alternative. I lose
access to structural tension which is essential to the creative process. I
undermine my power as a creator.
We create our life from what is, and use what we
what as fuel to move us forward. Accepting what is, is crucial.
Let’s say I want to work with wood and I want to
work with soft wood. I go to the store and all that is available is hard
wood and I purchase that, take it home and begin working with it as if it
is soft. What do you think will happen? I won’t be able to create what I
want because I am not dealing with the reality of what is.
If we want to move forward in our lives, we must
assess and accept that which is, and use that which is as the raw
materials for whatever we want to create.
Transformation comes through acceptance, through the
welcoming of what is, the embrace of our current reality.

QUOTES:
“You have the ability to raise yourself. Don't
contract from your experiences. Bless them. Love them. They are your
ladders into expansion and higher consciousness.”
~ John-Roger with Paul Kaye ~
Momentum, Letting Love Lead
“Dishonesty forfeits divine aid.”
~ John- Roger ~
"As soon as we choose to accept our reality
as it is, the power of our acceptance immediately transforms it into
something more closely resembling what we would like it to be."
~ Michael Neill ~

PRACTICALLY SPEAKING:
- Scan your environment and allow yourself to
notice something you’ve been pretending isn’t there. Perhaps it’s
unopened mail, or a pile of clutter in the entryway, or a project you
keep putting off.
- Now scan your inner environment. Notice if there
are any situations or people you’ve been avoiding dealing with. Also
notice if there are any feelings you haven’t allowed yourself to
feel.
- Tell yourself the truth about the situation. “I’ve
been avoiding talking to my folks about visiting for the holidays.
When I think about doing the same ol’, same ol’ my energy sinks
and I don’t want to make the trip.”
- Ask yourself, “Hmmm, what do I want?” and
allow your wanting to reveal itself.
- Choose what you want. “I choose to create a fun
holiday that is memorable this year.”
- Ask, what is my next action?

WONDER QUESTIONS:
- Are you willing to accept what is and use your
current reality as the raw material to create what you want?
- Are you ready to let your creative embrace
transform what is into what you really want?
- Are you willing to be the predominant creative
force in your life?
