The events of this past week have moved me to send this first issue of
my newsletter.
NOTHING MORE IMPORTANT THAN
THE LOVING
In the face of tragic loss, we are reminded of what is most important in life - LOVE.
For me the horror of September 11th followed on the heels of the death of
a dearly beloved friend. I have spent the past two weeks reflecting on my behaviors and choices that I have made
and wondering where I could have loved more, and what I made more important
than the Loving.
I am aware how precious and fragile life is. I am aware of the gifts of my body,
my home, my family, my neighbors, the city I live in, our country. The abundance
of my life has been revealed, that which was transparent has become more apparent
to me. So much I have taken for granted. So much I have to be grateful for.
I think about the times I have chosen to complain instead of wonder, criticize
instead of appreciate. And as I reflect upon the past, I see how the quality of
my life has been effected by these choices I made.
What now?
I get to choose again. And I get to decide whether to choose out of unconsciousness
or from awareness. Since I create the quality of my life either way, I choose to create my
life sourced from Love.
And when I forget, I choose to forgive.
There is nothing more important than the Loving.
I have at times forgotten this.
I forgive myself for forgetting.
