"Don't judge each day by
the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant."

Year
End?
by Leslie Karen Sann, MA, LCPC
It's the end of the year. You're probably out
hustling and bustling taking care of the many details and loose ends of
not only the holiday but also the year. But what about you? What about
taking care of you at year end?
I propose you take some time during the last week of
year just for you. Set aside some uninterrupted time daily to spend alone.
This is time for a year-end review. A time to bring awareness to the past
twelve months.
Reflect on the past year. How have you spent your
time? Pay attention to all areas of your life; work, family, friends,
health, fun ...
- What were the gifts?
- What occurred that did not meet your expectations
and how did they change you?
- What have you learned this year?
Tune into the you in the moment.
- Who have you become that is different than who
you were?
- Have you developed more patience as a result of a
challenging relationship?
- Do you feel freer inside as a result of having
forgiven someone?
- Have you discovered a creative side of you that
until now has been dormant?
- For what are you grateful?
Take a moment to also reflect on people, places,
situations.
- Have you met anyone new, deepened any
relationships, let go of others?
- Have you moved, changed jobs, got promoted,
laid off?
- What has occurred and what is present as a
result?
- What gifts have been bestowed, unasked for, but
welcomed?
When you are ready, shift to asking yourself what
experience you are wanting for next year. Is it greater peace, kindness,
generosity, giving and receiving love, creative challenges?? This isn't
about setting goals, it's about going deeper. What quality of living would
you like to invite more into your life?
When you tune in to what that is for you, make a one
sentence statement that holds the essence of what you are wanting. Write
the sentence as if what you want is already occurring. For example:
- I am celebrating the gift of generosity and
love in all my close relationships.
- I am trusting myself to know what is true for
me and to support my truth with action.
- I am grateful for the many blessings in my
life and pay attention to their gifts daily.
I trust you will enjoy this special time with
yourself.
Blessings to you and yours,
Leslie

A Reader Shares a Win:
I have found that taking the first action (step)
facilitates ease and gets me in motion. I am finding energy available for
me to use to create flow through action.
I am spending far less time worrying about what is
not done, because I'm in action - I am participating not avoiding! It's
very cool. ~ M.L. ~
