"Human beings are not born once and for
all
on the day their mothers gave birth to them...;
life obliges them over and over again
to give birth to themselves."
~ Gabriel Garcia Marquez ~

Newness
and Possibilities by Leslie Karen Sann
I know I'm not the first nor will I be the last
woman to celebrate becoming a grandma. Earlier this week my very first
grandbaby, a boy, decided to make his way into this new year two weeks
early. What a gift he has brought. The new year is often a time for
reflection and consideration for me as I take time to focus on what I want
to create in the coming year. With a new baby in the family, life seems
even more full of possibilities.
How do you use the energy of newness that January
can bring?
Making resolutions has a bad rap. The story is
resolutions don't make it past the first few weeks of the month. Perhaps
it's because most people don't know how to turn a resolution into a
vision, then design an action plan to make that vision a reality.
In 1953, a Harvard study showed that 3% of the
students graduating that year actually wrote their specific career goals
down. Twenty years later, a team of researchers interviewed the class of
‘53 and found that the 3% who had written down their goals were worth
more financially than the other 97% combined.
There is power in knowing what you want and writing
it down. It leads to action and action is the key to manifestation.
Living by design is about holding a clear vision of
what you really want and taking action to call that vision into reality.
New Years is a traditional time to take stock of where we are and where we
want to go. To support you in designing your year, I have created an
Action Guide and am offering it as a gift to you.
It's important to know the WHY behind your WHAT. Why
do you want that shiny new car, or to weigh 20 pounds less? The WHY is the
juice that fuels your motivation for action.
